Dr. Bruce K. Roff has studied in the US, and in China. He is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, licensed acupuncturist (2008), massage therapist (2001), 3rd degree Reiki practitioner (2008), and herbal practitioner (Tristate, 2010). He received his degrees from the Swedish Institute of Applied Health Sciences, located in New York, and Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego (2018). He is also certified in acupuncture for cancer patients through Sloan Kettering in New York. Dr. Bruce has also been awarded best acupuncturist of the Hudson Valley of New York (2013). He has also studied Western Functional Medicine, and incorporates the blending of the knowledge of functional medicine with the wisdom of Chinese medicine.
Dr. Bruce is a firm believer that the body can and will heal with the proper diagnosing and treatment. It is the role of the practitioner to identify the root cause of disease, manage the patient’s health and wellbeing, and to encourage the patient back to health.
Dr. Bruce’s passion is medicine, and the human body. He tirelessly continues to research, study, and educate himself; to better serve his life purpose of restoring people back to optimal health and balance.
Dr. Bruce has performed over 80,000 acupuncture treatments (2017), and has provided care to patients with many different conditions. From Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, to fibromyalgia, and pain conditions.To list all the conditions would be tedious.
Currently Dr. Bruce owns and runs the busiest acupuncture and natural medicine clinic in eastern Tennessee. He is also a primary care provider of acupuncture for the veterans choice program.
Some of Dr. Bruce’s most notable teachers are, Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen, Dr. Helen Zhang, and Dr. Bin Ling. Dr. Bruce has studied directly under Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen. Dr. Yuen comes from two Daoist lineages – 88th generation of the Yu Qing Huang Lao Pai (Jade Purity Yellow Emperor Lao Zi School) and 26th generation of the Quan Zhen Long Men Pai (Complete Reality Dragon Gate School).
Dr. Bruce has also studied herbology with Dr. Helen Zhang. Dr. Zhang received her Ph.D. in 1990 from China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has participated in NCCAOM Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology Item Writing from 1998 to 1999, and was a commissioner of NCCAOM from 2000 to 2005. She is currently a member of Eligibility Committee at NCCAOM. Dr. Zhang has been teaching at both Tri-State College of Acupuncture and Pacific College of Oriental Medicine since 1997.
Dr. Bruce has also studied with Dr. Bin Ling. Dr. Ling is a Medical Qigong teacher and practitioner, Chinese herbalist, Acupuncturist, and Western Medical doctor from Beijing, China.
